Deependra Moitra, Ph.D., is a management consultant, dedicated to helping companies transform their performance through strategic innovation. He has over 18 years of multifaceted experience in crafting business growth strategies, new business incubation, strategic innovation management, technology and R&D management, and global product development across high technology products as well as services sectors. He has extensively advised senior management teams at large global corporations as well as entrepreneurial technology ventures, and helped them improve near-term business performance and construct platforms for profitable growth. Dr. Moitra frequently speaks at major industry forums and international conferences, and serves on the advisory boards of numerous start-ups and not-for-profit institutions.

BACKGROUND

Prior to becoming management consultant, Dr. Moitra held senior management positions with Infosys Technologies and Lucent Technologies. At Infosys, as the General Manager for R&D, he was instrumental in shaping the company's nonlinear growth strategy and spearheaded a highly successful services innovation initiative, encompassing emerging technologies R&D, business technology consulting, and intellectual property commercialization. At Lucent, as a start-up team member and the general manager for its India R&D Centre, he played a key role in establishing a large, high performance software product R&D organization and led the centre to formally achieve the status of Bell Labs in a record time of 2 years. Earlier in his career, he held various positions with Siemens Communications Software and the Indian Space Research Organization.

Dr. Moitra received a B.Tech. degree with high honors from the University of Calicut and earned his Ph.D. from the Rotterdam School of Management. A recipient of numerous awards and honors, his leadership style and accomplishments have been profiled, among highly visible leaders, in an internationally acclaimed book, Leading with Wisdom, published in 2007 by Sage Publications and Greenleaf Publishing.
